The Latest Trends On TV That You Have To FOLLOW

There will be a new TV show to look forward to every weekday with the advent of FOLLOW, a lifestyle program specifically tailored to appeal Manila's top tier.

It chronicles the people that affect our lifestyle choices—where we eat, what we wear, where we shop, what we listen to, and so forth—in other words, the people we follow.

FOLLOW’S premise lies on how we accrue knowledge. Today’s society operates at breakneck speed and thus, traditional forms of gathering knowledge are rapidly becoming obsolete. More often than not, the internet spews out breaking news ahead of the rest and most of us access this thru our social media accounts.

Guests of the initial episodes include interior designer Nix Alanon, international web designer Christian San Jose, Balik Bukid’s Hindy Weber-Tantoco, gay rights advocate Divine Lee, food market proponent RJ Ledesma and home accessories designer Daphne Oseña-Paez.

The beautiful and classy Mandy dela Rama-Santos hosts FOLLOW. As a style sophisticate, entrepreneur and owner of Tarte Tatin children’s attire, mother and wife, Mandy is the perfect person to guide the show. Her imposing persona, charismatic attitude and glamorous demeanor plus her wide network make for a magnetic host that’s guaranteed to grab your attention—in a way that is elegant, friendly and believable.

The show will air on Solar Entertainment’s 2nd Avenue channel starting Monday, 30 July 2012 at 6 pm. Regular airings will be from Mondays to Fridays at 6 pm, 8 pm, 8 am, and 2 pm.

Follow is supported by the Greenfield District, Twin Oaks, Bistro Filipino, Cetaphil, Restylane (Galderma), Fila, Xtreme Magic Sing/The Astra Group, Flawless, Future Trade International, Rustan's, Zen Institute, RoyalBrands, AOC (Art of Color), Neo Laptop, Melawares, Sodastream, Urban Kitchen, Perfect Dining, Soyami Chips and Quest Hotel Cebu. Who thinks that they will come up for an idea like this. This time, the winners from Medium Security Compound will challenge the winners of Maximum Security. Oh well, it's another battle of cooking challenge and I know for sure that they have been preparing for this.

Warm welcome, good hospitality and very courteous people from the admin and from the detainee. You will see the smiles in their faces and enchanted to the celebration that is going to happen. Make Smarter Financial Decisions via Analytics

IBM today organized a Finance Forum to help address challenges faced by finance professionals in measuring business performance, providing inputs for enterprise strategy, driving enterprise cost reduction, and managing risk.

There is increasing pressure to gain more visibility, insight, and control to drive the firm's financial stability. To meet these demands, organizations are placing greater emphasis on end-to-end reporting, scenario modeling, optimizing, and effective planning and forecasting. Finance organizations must drive a smarter enterprise through improved analytics and operations efficiency.  Surviving and thriving in the recovery means anticipating and shaping business outcomes, and driving transparency to manage risk and improve decision making.
At the IBM Finance Forum 2012, special guest keynote speaker and New Zealand based bestselling author David Parmenter talked about key performance indexes. He provided insights on:
·        Understanding the myths of performance measurement that lead to failure
·        The foundations stones required to revitalize performance (including abandoning processes that do not work)
·        Turning reporting into a decision based tool (including a one page summary A3 report to the CEO, one page board dashboard concise financials, brief business unit reports, a one page investment proposal summary etc)
·        Using the right performance measures – your winning KPIs
·        The prerequisites for a rolling forecasting and planning process that works
·        The five things attendees should get on with immediately
Compliance remains a key issue that many companies are struggling with. The high cost of compliance and getting a complete, reliable picture of financial and operational risk are critical concerns.

“Many companies are struggling with the high cost of compliance and with getting a complete, reliable picture of financial and operational risk. These companies’ risk and compliance programs are expensive, operate in silos, and don’t deliver the risk information needed for effective decision-making,” said Patrick Lim, Governance, Risk and Compliance Sales Leader, IBM ASEAN.

The session on Governance, Risk and Compliance described a better approach on risk and compliance programs with a specific discussion on an Enterprise GRC platform that demonstrates a common risk and compliance architecture.

“This platform helps companies take a more programmatic approach to risk management and regulatory compliance and achieve better alignment of risk and performance management objectives, saving money and improving business outcomes,” said Lim.

The forum also featured the latest IBM Cognos 10 solutions that can drive innovation into enterprise planning, analysis and profitability modeling process. This session described the latest  advances in IBM Business Analytics software, illustrating how companies can establish a more dynamic, reliable planning, analysis and profitability modeling system that connects operational and financial performance to help companies anticipate and act on business opportunities and risk more effectively.

Another session described the capabilities of IBM Cognos BI v10.1, IBM Cognos BI – Scorecarding, v10.1, IBM Cognos TM1 v9.5 and SPSS Modeler v14.1. This solution enables finance managers to anticipate performance gaps between forecasts, targets and actuals for important financial management, revenue, expense and capital management Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) in an executive dashboard format. Built-in KRIs provide early warning signals of possible weaknesses in key areas of the business.

Attendees of the forum were also given a glimpse of how IBM delivers an integrated financial close management platform that automates – within a single, unified application – processes spanning financial consolidations, external reporting, reconciliation management and continuous controls.

ARIEL: Proud Keeper Of The Philippines’ Colors

Do you want to be a part of the London 2012 Olympic Games? Ariel makes it possible for all Filipinos. More than simply being spectators, you can lend your support to our country’s athletes by giving them a piece of the shirt on your back. Literally.

On June 24, Ariel invited the public to go to the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall for a day-long event for the opportunity to give a piece of their shirt to help create the Philippine flag—a gift to our athletes, to bring with them as they compete in London. And with Ariel Color & Style, the colors are sure to remain vibrant, especially when the athletes wave the flag proudly for all the world to see.

People came in the hundreds in their red, yellow, blue, and white shirts. Assistants cut a uniform square piece from each of the shirts, and gave donors the option to cover the square with a patch stating, “Ariel: Proud Keeper of the Philippines’ Colors”. Each patch cost only P50, and all proceeds were also donated to the Philippine athletes.

The campaign launch introduced the Philippine Olympic athletes Hidilyn Diaz, Jasmine Alkhaldi, Rene Herrera, and Jessie Lacuna to the audience, and they gave a piece of their own shirts as well. Everyone was also treated to entertainment by Escola de Samba de Manila and 6CycleMind.

If you were not able to drop by the event last Sunday, collection of your shirt pieces is still on-going at Metropole Laundry and Dry Cleaning outlets, and Team Manila stores up to July 2, 2012. The replacement Proud Keeper patches are also available for P50, and Team Manila also has special edition t-shirts for sale. Proceeds of all patches and t-shirts sold go to the Philippine Olympians.

Ariel: Proud Keeper of the Philippines’ Colors is in partnership with the Philippine Olympic Committee, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, Metropole Laundry and Dry Cleaning, Team Manila, and The Philippine Star.

For a complete list of participating Metropole and Team Manila outlets, ‘Like’ and stay tuned to Don’t miss out on being a part of this unique way of supporting the Philippines’ athletes at the London 2012 Olympic Games!
