Maxicare unveils its Exclusive Wing and new and bigger Primary Care Center in Makati Medical Center

Maxicare formally opens its new and bigger Primary Care Center (PCC) and Exclusive Wing at the Makati Medical Center (MMC) on January 15, 2013. To inaugurate the PCC and Exclusive wing, a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony and blessing was led by Bishop Raul Martinez. Present during the inauguration were Maxicare Healthcare Corporation’s Roberto Macasaet, MD, Founder and Chairman of the Board, Antonio L. Go, Vice Chairman, and Jose Pastor Z. Puno, President and CEO. Also present was Rose Montenegro, President and CEO of Makati Medical Center.

Established in April 1999, the Maxicare PCC at MMC had humble beginnings and could only accommodate 300 member patients a day. Despite its size, the PCC became one of the most visited Maxicare PCCs. This prompted Maxicare to upgrade to a bigger and better PCC that is now located on the 3rd Floor of MMC Tower 1. The new PCC now occupies twice of the floor area with more counters and internal medicine physicians that can serve twice as many members as the old PCC, enabling Maxicare to provide better service to its members.

The new PCC complements the Maxicare Exclusive Wing in MMC, which was opened in 2012. Maxicare is the first and only HMO in the Philippines with an Exclusive Wing in two of the country’s premiere hospitals. The Exclusive Wing gives Maxicare members priority and privileged treatment through 21 rooms with regular private and large private categories.

Maxicare’s Primary Care Center (PCC) and Exclusive Wing are parts of Maxicare’s continuous efforts to serve its members better. Both facilities at MMC will continue to provide Maxicare members with access to Customer Service Associates, Primary Care Physicians specializing in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and additional services such as Laboratory and ECG to administer immediate and exclusive services on members’ needs.

Maxicare Exclusive Wings are conveniently located in Makati Medical Center and The Medical City to give its members easy access to quality diagnostics, specialist consultation and hospitalization when needed. Maxicare has 12 Primary Care Centers including affiliate clinic, MyHealth. These PCCs are located at Asian Hospital & Medical Center, Chinese General Hospital, Filomena Building - Makati, Makati Medical Center, St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City, St. Luke’s Medical Center – Quezon City, The Medical City, MyHealth Clinic – EDSA Shangri-La, MyHealth Clinic – Festival Supermall, MyHealth Clinic – North EDSA, MyHealth Clinic – Calamba and MyHealth Clinic – Cebu.

Starbucks New Snack Boxes

I came from the Union Bank one morning when I decide to drop by in the Starbucks at the ground floor in our office building. Deciding which one to buy because I haven't eaten my breakfast yet, I saw something new that they are offering.

I was talking with the crew about this and I found out that it was really new that they have this since January 9 of this year only. She also mentioned that their snack boxes are all under 300kcal. The Starbucks new snack boxes are in three different choices, which are the following;

Four Cheese Dip with Crostini and Cold Pesto Pasta,  well if you are a cheese lover, this one is for you. A warm blend of mozzarella, cream cheese, parmesan and Edam to delight your taste buds. Comes with crostini and with cold aldente penne pesto pasta.

Spinach, Artichoke Dip with Bread Sticks and Cold Grilled Chicken, is a creamy and flavorful snack, blended of warm creamy spinach and artichoke dip with hints of garlic that is serve with crunchy bread sticks and juicy cold grilled chicken. It is so delectable.

Hummus with Pita Bread and Cold Mediterranean Pastahummus is a great dip for pita chips bread and complements the cold Mediterranean pasta.

Among the three I tried the Hummus with Pita Bread and Cold Mediterranean Pasta, thinking that this one is the healthiest and cost only P140. I was so excited to try it when I notice that it was spicy... hahaha forget to learn that Mediterranean food are really spicy and I am not a fan of spicy foods. And its because I'm so hungry, I ate it all except for the hummus and some pita bread because the hummus smells like a spoiled one. Good I also brought the Old Fashion Oatmeal Cookie neutralized my taste buds.

I told my office mates to try it and they even don't like the taste of hummus. Maybe next time I would like to have Four Cheese Dip with Crostini and Cold Pesto Pasta or the Spinach, Artichoke Dip with Bread Sticks and Cold Grilled Chicken  and will post here my verdict about the two and which among the three are perfect for my taste that I can be considered in having of taste of goodness

By the way, I know that Starbucks always had their bloggers event although I have never been invited by them (ooppss...just saying and not complaining). So with this one, I would say that I pay for my meal and not just because I attend their product launch.

McCormick K-Pop, The Family Fried Chicken

I was invited for another food event where I have to try the Korean recipe frying mix from McCormick and it was held at The Cookery Place at Kensington Place in Bonifacio Global City.

This is the newest product line of McCormick which is called McCormick Korean Fried Chichen Recipe MIx! Who doesn't like fried chichen? Oh well, it's always served in our home for it was one of my son's favorite food. Now, my preparation of fried chicken will turn into something more interesting for my kid.

McCormick Korean Fried Chicken Recipe Mix comes complete with batter mix and sauce in four well-loved Korean flavors which are Soy Garlic, Bulgogi, Kimchi and Spicy.

For those with a sweeter palate, Soy Garlic and Bulgogi will give fried chicken that distinctive Asian taste. For that added kick, Kimchi and Spicy will let you see your recipe in a whole new light and I'm warning you because the spicy is really spicy and the Kimchi is the one that I would say can tolerate to eat.

I appreciate the chance creating our teams version of Soy Garlic fried chicken and it was really amusing.

Below is the step-by-step guide on how to prepare your fried chicken with a twist.

Your whole family can now enjoy the Korean flavors at the comfort of your homes and experience another Asian dining.

Every pack can coat up to half a kilo of chicken choice cuts and has no added MSG. McCormick Korean Fried Chicken Recipe Mix is now available at your favorite supermarkets nationwide. I will be sharing some recipe here with this new product but it will be in my next post so watch out for it.
