Cakes, Coffee, Pastries And More At Cab Cafe In Kapitolyo

Are you looking for a place to dine? A place where you can enjoy the food and relax a bit? Oh well, I have found a spot in Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Who should have said that I don't have to go somewhere just to find a perfect place to dine with my family. I will admit that there are times that we don't feel like preparing our meal, so we end up eating somewhere for lunch or dinner.

I have found this place with my Zomato friends where we are invited to try they food. It was easy to find because Kapitolyo is one of the smallest Baranggay in Pasig City.

You will never think that they also serve meals aside from cakes and other pastries that you can easily found in the display.

Let's g back to the food review. During that time, we have tried they locally brewed coffee, the Caramel Macchiato, and Choco Peanut Butter Pie. I don't usually drink coffee and I am not a fun, but I sip a little just to taste it. The Caramel Macchiato for me was so strong while I liking the Choco Peanut Butter Pie which is the just perfect blend of chocolate or tablea and peanut butter. I am sure that kids will love it.

Then we tried their Country Sausage Platter which is very appetizing the peppery flavor is so rich, but I think it should be better if has a dip like honey mustard or garlic mayo. We also have Batchoy Bacolod, Pizza Alfredo, Pinoy Deli Pasta, and Sate Babe.

The Batchoy is just fine, Pinoy Deli Pasta for me was a little dry and the Sate Babe was great which is excellent sauce for the pork and complements with the java rice and achara while the Pizza Alfredo was superb, I like it because it's not oily compared to the usual pizza that we have grown up.

We also have Ice Fruit Coolers which are the Watermelon Blackberry and the Strawberry Raspberry and for the desserts. We have Mango Pavlova and Blueberry Cheesecake. I love the Mango Pavlova, it's chewy and not too sweet while the Blueberry Cheesecake is just good and I taste it too salty for me different from the usual cheesecake which is a little sour.

They also serve beers as in local beers created in our country the Bog's Brew. I like the names of those beers so unique such as NPA for Negros Pale Ale,  Kawayan Ale and All Grain Ale. I did not try it because I don't feel like drinking that night and I have worked the following morning, but most of my peers told me that they like better the NPA.

The food great and as well as the price. Very affordable and delectable especially the cakes and pastries they have in the counter displays.

Cab Cafe is located in number 18 East Kapitolyo Drive, Kapitolyo, Pasig City.  Like them on Facebook at ww.facebook.com/cabcafe and Follow them on Instagram at cabcafe.

Lucky's Burger and Bar Is Another Place For Chilling Out

I'm always thankful and delighted every time I'll be one of the chosen bloggers who will try food reviews.

Obviously, I love food though not fun of veggies but still love eating. Last month, I tried a Burger and Beer Feast at Forbes Town Center in BGC. This time, the Lucky's Burger and Bar.

I was rushing to that place that day because I'll be coming from the other side of Makati. I was the second to the last who arrive but still make it before the food tasting starts.

First they serve us their appetizer. The Buffalo wings with blue cheese sauce, BBQ Chicken wings, Beef Salficao  and their signature Lucky's Bacon Chips. I would say that the Bacon Chips  rocks and best if you deep it in vinegar.

Although their Beef Salficao was also good, for me the Bacon Chips will capture everyone's heart.

For Entrees, we have tried the Buttermilk Fried Chicken who is served with coleslaw, herbed rice and gravy. I  should have like it if the breading was not too much. It makes the chicken is not crunchy but hard to eat because the outer part of is so hard.

We also tried their Lucky Chops, it was served with buttered french beans, garlic and chive fried rice and gravy. The meat is so tender and I like better.

Then the Lucky Burger was served, it was 1/3 pound chargrilled all beef patty served with American cheddar cheese, streaky bacon, lettuce, tomato, onions and lucky's signature burger dressing. Lucky's Burger is also best with fries or mojos. The patty is so juicy.

Next was the pasta. We tried their five  kinds of pasta and these are the Bacon Mac & Cheese, Aglio e Olie, Chicken Rigatoni, Creamy Mushroom Truffle Pasta and Spaghetti & Meatball Melt.

For their Pasta, I would say that my favorites are the Creamy mushroom truffle and the bacon mac & cheese.

And off course, we will not end the night without trying the desserts. We have Lucky's Apple Pie and Brownie Mug.

They also served cocktails like Mojito,  Pina Colada, Lychee Smash and more. Local and imported beers are also present aside from the non-alcoholic drink that they offer.

Lucky's Burger and Bar is one of the places that serves delish food by far and I am pretty sure that I will look for in my next visit aside from the bacon chips was their brownie mug dessert. For the dessert its 4.5 but overall it's 3.5 for me including the kindness and smiles of their crew and staff.

The place is pretty cool, ideal for chilling out and but you have to have your own car or ride a cab unless you want to walk for miles when you want get there. Hoping to have another more accessible location for their future branch.

Oh, before I forgot I just noticed that their logos look like a cow or bull, so cute. Check out Lucky's Burger and Bar at the Tuscany, Upper Mckinley Road, McKinley Hill, Taguig City. You may also call them at 02 2469069 ext:354 for reservation.

Let's Make ADOBO The Official Dish Of The Philippines

Filipinos being patriotic as we take pride our heroes from the time of Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio up to the modern-day heroes like Manny Pacquiao. We are blessed with our natural resources and beautiful 7, 107 islands. We are  also distinguished by our food affection that is why it kinda surprising the we do not have our own national dish.

Most of the Filipinos, if you will ask what should be our national dish they will instantly say, "Adobo!". Mainly because we all grow up with this dish serving in our table and in different occasions that we have in our family. Although, Filipinos have different ways of cooking it, it still Adobo that they are trying to serve for their family.

During the launching, we tried few of the best Adobo recipes that have served to us and I appreciate better the Adobo. My favorites are the Adobo sa Gata, Adobong Pusit  and Adobo Rice really taste good. I am planning to make my version of Adobo rice at home for my family.

The Adobo Queen Chef Nancy Reyes-Lumen talks about the history of Adobo and afterwards, chef Mitchie Sison demonstrate us cool Adobo recipe. We are also being serenade by the UP Rondalla.

Filipinos being creative have tried to innovate this dish because of its versatility so you can adjust the recipes according to your own taste and, of course, depends on the availability of the local ingredients.

It's time to make our own national dishes and to take pride in what is uniquely our own. Furthermore, this is not the first effort to make Adobo the national dish of the Philippines.  Back in 2014, House Bill 3926 led by Hon, Rene Relampagos from fist district of Bohol was filed in congress to declare Adobo as our National Dish, but the bill is still up for final deliberation.

Hence, the Adobo Movement was created to help gather 500,000 signatures to support the House Bill 3926. You can be part of this worthy cause. All you have to do is to log on to www.change.org/organizations/adobomovement and click on the sign petition button! You can also, help us spread the word to your family and friends by sharing your vote over facebook or by sending the link to them so that they can be part of the movement.

In addition, Datu Puti will be launching the Adobo Movement Food Fair on June 11, 2015 to celebrate Adobo as being proudly Pinoy in time with commemorating our Independence Day at the Eastwood City Plaza Tent (tiangge area) from 6:30-12:00 midnight as food concessionaires from all over the country will battle it our for the honor of being called The Bayan's Best Adobo.

There will also various Pinoy artist performer as they freely showcase the rich talent of the Filipino people. What better way to celebrate our day of freedom with fun, entertainment, and plates of varied, mouth-wateringAdobo dishes!

Entrance is FREE alongside your petition!

Let us unite our hearts and bellies to come forward and claim Adobo as our National Dish! Be part of the Adobo Movement! Subo mga kapatid!
