Today is KFC Delivery Fan's Day!

KFC Delivery Fans Day was set to be on September 30. KFC invited bloggers to help crack a secret from the Mystery Manila. We are the Team 2 and we are four in the group namely Gerilen, Patty, Beth and yours truly.

Before we get to the KFC Mystery Challenge, we first eat breakfast to get the energy we need. Then, we are given a key that we will be using in KFC Mystery Challenge. Now, did you feel the excitement like what we have?

After the breakfast, we headed back at the KFC Bonifacio Triangle and recieved a red envelope with a letter from Colonel Harland Sanders. It has a 50 KFC bucks and we ran to the cashier to order the Colonel's Special before we get the fist clue of the mystery challenge.

We got the two-way radio in it and we tried to communicate in the other line that we think could give us clue on what's next.

Now we run to outside and I use the key to open the delivery motorcycle box and in one try... Boom! It was open!

The next clue was there and it has a sunglasses, hairnet and KFC shirt on it. One of use which is Patty will be the colonel's assistant that she needs to raid the KFC counter. Patty was asked to get the KFC Chiken Bucket ordered by a customer with a name Harland. So run all over the whole place to find Harland and get the Chicken delivered to him.

It took us so long to find the guy, there are some bluffers too and we even give up on it. Until... Finally, in the outside. We found him!

Upon giving him the bucket of chicken, he gave us a black box with two digital locks and here we go again, we need to decode it to find the next task.

I suggest to use the KFC delivery numbers (887-8888) and it was open. Then we went to the second floor and while opening the door and entering the place an explosion of confetti and congratulatory greetings surprise us.

To give you some details on how we enjoyed the day and how it was fun. I'm sharing you the video below... enjoy!

EasyGrocery: Grocery Made Easy!

Have you ever wonder doing groceries without going to the supermarket? Have you think of having a hassle free grocery shopping without going out and just on your place?

Great news – you can now do your groceries online!

Imagine foregoing the hassle of physically going to the grocery, dealing with traffic and parking woes, dealing with a crowded supermarket and longer lines at the cashier.

This is made possible by EasyGrocery, the latest mobile app which allows consumers to purchase their grocery items from the app and have them delivered to their preferred address within 60 minutes committed time. The app works for both iOS and Android phones and is now available for download from the App Store and Google Play.

The launch of EasyGrocery comes at a time when more and more Pinoy shoppers are putting premium value for convenience. The results of the annual Nielsen Shopper Trends report from 2015 to 2017 showed a common theme on the shopping habits of Filipinos. While income and purchasing power remains on the upswing, what remains a reality is that the consumers’ time is now a highly-priced commodity. Hence, products and services that are convenient, trustworthy and hassle-free will always appeal to busy Filipinos.

The proliferation of online shopping in the Philippines has significantly altered the way Filipino consumers approach shopping. In 2015, there are already 26.01 million Filipino eCommerce users, majority of which come from the middle class. Topping their list of purchase are electronic goods, clothes and even furniture.

Therefore, it is surprising that in spite the proliferation of online shopping sites and apps, one still has yet to buy their groceries on foot and in store. This may be the reason why another earlier Shopper Trends survey showed that Filipinos are spending less during grocery shopping but spending more in convenience stores.

Grocery Shopping for the changing times EasyGrocery aims to cater to the average Filipinos who find grocery shopping a daunting but necessary task: it can be the average office worker who spends a minimum of 8 hours in the office, excluding overtime; it can be the harried mother trying to balance taking care of the kids and still do house chores; or it can be OFWs who want to be more hands-on on their family’s budgeting.

“We currently live in a fast-paced lifestyle where convenience and time-savings are the public’s priority requirement in their day-to-day activities. It is from this reality that the idea by which EasyGrocery was conceptualized.”
Eugene Leoncio, EasyGrocery’s President & CEO.

Whatever the case may be, this latest mobile app delivers the hassle-free and convenient way of getting the week’s basic necessities from the store to the customer’s home, with just a few clicks.

To appeal to the discerning market, EasyGrocery puts prime value in winning the trust of their users by putting their own brand of customer service in place:

• A fast and easy ordering system designed exclusively for the app
• Trained Runners who will personally pick-up the groceries as soon as orders are confirmed online
• GPS mobile app tracker for their riders which allows customers to track the driver’s location with ETA
• A proactive notification system which allows customers to see if items/orders are already in process and see their current status EasyGrocery provides a variety of online grocery shopping options as it makes it possible to purchase the orders in some of the country’s biggest supermarket chains.

What’s best, groceries will come from the stores nearest to the customers in order to meet delivery time.

Users have the option of paying Cash On Delivery (COD), credit card and points payment and soon, payments can also be made via Bayad Centers, over the counter, online banking, convenience stores and mobile payment facilities.

And since EasyGrocery only charges a flat rate of 100 pesos for the service fee per order and another 100 pesos for the delivery fee; it is still more affordable compared to commuting and then dealing with the unnecessary expenses of grocery shopping!

EasyGrocery is now available in its three pilot areas of Makati, Parañaque and Taguig, and hopes to add more cities in the coming months.

Butamaru Opens New Ramen And Izakaya Concept In Ortigas

Alabang’s cult-favorite ramen joint has finally set up shop and opened its doors in the heart of Metro Manila. Butamaru’s newest branch is located at Technopoint One, Ortigas Home Depot, giving its loyal ramen-hungry patrons a much more accessible dining option. The new branch retains the interior details that diners have come to know and love – the long Japanese-style dining counter, the minimalist wooden furniture, down to the photo collage backdrop that gives a glimpse of the experience you’re about to enjoy.

Butamaru’s claim to fame is its sinfully decadent, slow-roasted, melt-in- your-mouth round pork belly slices swimming in a soulful sixteen-hour tonkotsu broth, creating a harmonious, perfectly balanced flavor. The noodles are hand-made using techniques and specifications passed down by Master Artisan Sugimura of Menko Noodle Company. The Shoyu ramen is a tried-and-tested classic that’s become synonymous with the branch but if you want something a bit lighter, the Shio is an excellent choice. For diners seeking a spicy kick to each slurp, the Tantanmen or Curry Tantanmen is perfect for you. A popular choice in the Ortigas branch is Kaisen ramen – one of Butamaru’s newest creation that combines perfectly cooked seafood with a hearty umami-filled broth.

Aside from serving their savory and heartwarming ramen, Butamaru’s newest concept incorporates an extensive izakaya selection to complete your Japanese dining experience.

Executive Chef Jerome Lim meticulously crafted and curated Butamaru’s izakaya menu, combining traditional Japanese fare with exciting new flavors. Kushiyaki favorites like Gyu Kushi, Yakitori, Buta Bara (pork belly), Tori Kawa (chicken skin) and Shiitake mushroom sticks are available while lesser known options like Kamo Kushi (duck breast) are offered as well.

For those looking for some crunch, their Katsu Gyozayaki, Ebi Mayo, Toriten and Supearibu Karai are sure to satisfy that craving. Make sure to try their Kimchi Chashu Tacos as well as Spicy Tuna Tacos as well for a unique explosion of flavors with every bite. Of course the izakaya experience wouldn’t be complete without alcohol. Butamaru Ortigas has an ample selection of local and imported beers, spirits, and Japanese-inspired cocktails.

Butamaru Ortigas is located at G/F, Ortigas Technopoint One (Upper Deck), Ortigas Home Depot, Doña Julia Vargas Ave., Pasig. Phone number: 6359246, e-mail: ortigas@butamaruramen.com. You can also find Butamaru Ortigas on Facebook and Instagram under @butamaruortigas.
